Hardback with Jacket

This book is about a child who thought love looked like hugs, birthday cakes, new clothes, and trips. And it did! But now I know it looks more like washing, ironing, cleaning, paying bills, working hard, forgiving, loving, and sacrificing!

This book is about the "invisible gifts" my parents gave me. It's about the sacrifices they so quietly made. I didn't understand their weight until I became older and perhaps a bit more like them.

I write this now, not as the child who received it, but as the adult who sees and understands some of the cost behind the smile.
