This book describes the different approaches to school supervision based on best practices and the potential impact it has on quality improvement. David Woods Baysah answers the following questions:
- How can school supervision be linked to quality improvement?
- What are the trends in school supervision?
- What is the existing framework for supervision in Liberia?
- How can decentralization of supervision service impact quality?
- What can Liberia learn to inform policy reform?
The book is based on a desk review of relevant literature and research conducted in nine education districts in Liberia. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were used to conduct the research. The need for both methods was based upon the nature and subject of the study and the relevant data needed to analyze the issues and make possible recommendations. The qualitative aspect included the use of interviews, observations, and focus group discussions.
